Prime number, quite a torture.

So what’s a prime number.

A positive integer that’s only divisible by 1 and itself.

That it is, the first thing i learnt in Secondary One. Later i realised they’re are good for tortures as well.

It would be quite a torture itself to ask someone to list the first 100 prime numbers in ascending series. Let’s try..

There is something that was created by George Woltmon, who made use of prime numbers to conduct the stress tests. This particular software “Prime95″ was written to test how well can your computer system work when it is put onto a 100% workload, to calculate as many prime numbers, bigger and bigger. Due to the fact that the bigger the number grows, it will be more difficult to determine if the particular number is a prime number.

On August 23rd, a UCLA computer in the GIMPS PrimeNet network discovered the 45th known Mersenne prime, 2^43,112,609-1, a mammoth 12,978,189 digit number! The prime number qualifies for the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s $100,000 award for discovery of the first 10 million digit prime number.

So, i tried this software on my new PC, just to test my maximum temperature my PC will hit when put all my 4 Cores at their maximum. Here are the results.

It reads a Maximum Temperature of 60degrees, from the idling temperature of 47degrees. Pretty decent work done by my 14cm CPU Fan and the other peripheral fans.

Anyway to sidetrack a little, i finally played the Red Alert 3 that i have gotten recently. The graphics is love.

First time i could proudly put the video settings of the game, details and resolution to “Ultra High” mode. Details such as water ripples, shadows and wind direction can be easily spotted and clearly seen running without hiccups.

Fly Me Away (Caution: Super Long Post) NEW 7 Wonders

Take me on a jet plane,
allow me to fly high.
Across the seas, into the clouds,
where my fuel will never run out.

Take me on a jet plane,
permit me to soar free.
To transcend the boundaries,
over the mountains and beyond the lakes,
for me to meet the seven wonders i can’t wait.

This sounds kind of cheesy and weird i know, but I made it up in 10mins, pardon the inappropriate usage of words.

The point was just to express my want for travel.

Hmm, let me bring you around the world in this post. To the NEW 7 wonders of the world.
What’s this all about?NEW 7 of Wonders?

(extracts from wikipedia) The New Seven Wonders of the World is a proposed alternative to the Seven Wonders of the World, organized by a Swiss corporation called New Open World Corporation (NOWC). The final list was announced on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal, in the Estádio da Luz, SL Benfica’s stadium at 9:30pm.

Feasts for the eyes for an onscreen tour of these NEW 7 Wonders. The order of appearance of the wonders does not indicates it’s rank. Its all equal.

The Machu Picchu of Peru, which has attributes of Community and Dedication.

Machu Picchu was constructed around AD1450, at the height of the Inca empire, and was abandoned less than 100 years later, as the empire collapsed under Spanish conquest. Although the citadel is located only about 50 miles from Cusco, the Inca capital, it was never found and destroyed by the Spanish, as were many other Inca sites.

Over the centuries, the surrounding jungle grew to enshroud the site, and few knew of its existence. In 1911, Yale historian and explorer Hiram Bingham brought the “lost” city to the world’s attention.

Bingham and others hypothesized that the citadel was the traditional birthplace of the Inca people or the spiritual center of the “virgins of the sun,” while curators of a recent exhibit have speculated that Machu Picchu was a royal retreat.

Christ the Redeemer of
Mexico, which has the attributes of welcoming and openness.

Christ the Redeemer , is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue stands 38 m (105 feet) tall, weighs 700 tons and is located at the peak of the 700-m (2296-foot) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca National Park, overlooking the city.

It is also a potent symbol of the Roman Catholic Church, whereby the statue has become an icon of Rio and Brazil.

The Great Wall of
China, which has the attributes of perseverance and persistence.

Haha, okay i admit. This is the only one that i’ve really been to. Probably in Primary 5. The climb was tiring and scary. Mainly due to the constructions of the steps which many are narrow and steep. I merely climbed a few segments and stopped. =P

Some facts,

The Great wall of China, ??; is a series of stone and earthen fortifications in China, built, rebuilt, and maintained between the 5th century BC and the 16th century to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire during the rule of successive dynasties.

Several walls, referred to as the Great Wall of China, were built since the 5th century BC, the most famous being the one built between 220 BC and 200 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. That wall was much further north than the current wall, built during the Ming Dynasty, and little of it remains.

The Great Wall is the world’s longest human-made structure, stretching over approximately 6,400 km from Shanhai Pass in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia. It is also the largest human-made structure ever built in terms of surface area and mass.

Petra of Jordan, which has the attributes of engineering and Protection.

Petra is an archaeological site in Jordan, lying in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of Arabah), the large valley running from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba.

It is famous for having many stone structures carved into the rock. The long-hidden site was revealed to the Western world by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812

Chichen Itza of Mexico, which has the attributes of worship and knowledge.


Don’t be mistaken, though it takes the shape of a Pyramid, it not one.

Chichen Itza is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site built by the Maya civilization located in the northern center of the Yucatán Peninsula, present-day Mexico.

Chichen Itza was a major regional center in the northern Maya lowlands from the Late Classic through the Terminal Classic and into the early portion of the Early Postclassic period. The site exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, from what is called “Mexicanized” and reminiscent of styles seen in central Mexico to the Puuc style found among the Puuc Maya of the northern lowlands.

The presence of central Mexican styles was once thought to have been representative of direct migration or even conquest from central Mexico, but most contemporary interpretations view the presence of these non-Maya styles more as the result of cultural diffusion.

Colosseum
of
Rome, Italy, which has the attributes of Joy and Suffering.


The Night View of the Colosseum

The Colosseum is a giant amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Originally capable of seating around 50,000 spectators, it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. It was built on a site just east of the Roman Forum, with construction starting between 70 and 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian. The amphitheatre, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire, was completed in 80 AD under Titus.

The Colosseum remained in use for nearly 500 years with the last recorded games being held there as late as the 6th century — well after the traditional date of the fall of Rome in 476. As well as the traditional gladiatorial games, many other public spectacles were held there, such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building eventually ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such varied purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry and a Christian shrine.

Although it is now in a severely ruined condition due to damage caused by earthquakes and stone-robbers, the Colosseum has long been seen as an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome and is one of the finest surviving examples of Roman architecture.

Taj Mahal
of India, which has the attributes of Love and Passion.

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India. The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned it as a mausoleum for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Construction began in 1632 and was completed in approximately 1648. Some dispute surrounds the question of who designed the Taj Mahal; it is clear a team of designers and craftsmen were responsible for the design, with Ustad Ahmad Lahauri considered the most likely candidate as the principal designer.

The Taj is generally considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements of Persian, Turkish, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most familiar part of the monument, the Taj Mahal is actually an integrated complex of structures. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 when it was described as a “universally admired masterpiece of the world’s heritage.

Its none other than….

The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, which has the attributes of Immortality and Eternity.

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and the largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis bordering what is now Cairo, Egypt in Africa. The oldest and only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the World, it is believed to have been constructed over a 20 year period concluding around 2560 BC. Great Pyramid of Giza was the world’s tallest building from 2570 BC to 1300 AD. The Great Pyramid was built as a tomb for Fourth dynasty Egyptian pharaoh and is sometimes called Khufu’s Pyramid or the Pyramid of Khufu.

Look at the size of the blocks, one block itself is taller than the height of a human.

 


Just imagine, how great and magnificent is the whole structure.

Haha, enough of such. Back to my rantings. Congratulations to these structures to be awarded the NEW 7 of Wonders. Though getting the award means that these states and country will be getting more revenue from their tourist industry, it would also on the other hand create more friction between man and the structure, which might lead it to being damaged. Hence, preservation is very important.

These wonders are all selected through votes from the public. Hence it doesn’t mean that the other structure are less magnificent. I believe that every individual structure has its own meaning and definition behind it.

These pictures are from the internet and the infomation are mostly from Wikipedia edited by me. Well, certainly one day i would wish to visit these places and witness it with my own eyes.

Preserve these structures, conserve the environment.

Here Comes Transformer

The time now is 2:05am on my watch. I’m going to start blogging.I just came back from my muggfree day, it ended with a fabulous movie. “Transformer”

Initially i thought of it to be a sort of crappy fictional show, just like those usual Superman, or Spiderman or whatever-man, where one fights to save the world from destruction from other species. Like in Batman, its that ugly Penguin.

Since i didn’t want to stay at home and rot my night through, I’ve just decided to give it a shot with my friends, since there’s like no other nice show available.
Well, it turned out to be a pretty good one.

I guessed what interests me most wasn’t really the story line, its the “transformation” part. Its just cool, pure coolness seeing automobiles transforming into magnificent robots. Like seeing a Chevy Camaro into the “Bumblebee”, and the Pontiac Solstice into “Jazz”. Furthermore, the transformation were all super detailed, every turn and screw of the bolt could be seen. It not like a ‘poof’, then a car changed into a robot.

It’s kind of a movie, especially for guys, to get those nuts and bolts cracking. Also, the military system and network of USA, the seemingly unlimited units of fighter planes, which is so pretty awesome. So what are you waiting for, get your arses in the theatres before its too late.The girl in the show’s pretty hot too!

When i came home, for some reason there seemed to be a problem with my network. I couldn’t get hooked up on the internet. So i took out the modem. The thought where by the modem could possibly transform kept running through my head. It wasn’t just me alone. Look at these.(extracts from conversations)

I’ve dug out a couple of my oldies which i had. They’re really nice. Shall upload some of my favorite soon. Well, an eighteen listening to such music. That’s probably why you can’t find me on 98.7, i’m maybe just 3.7 frequencies lower.

The time is now 2:47am, i shall go to sleep now because i have to wake up at 8 tomorrow. Uhhh, correction. Later, not tomorrow.

The first NC-16

Alright, i shall blogg about today, this day when i feel that i have grown up. A year older. Guessed whats the big hoo-ha about it? I watched an NC-16 show!!! A show which certainly deserved to be ranked under NC-16, in fact, M18 i think. <<The House Of Wax>>
Guys, if u’re seriously intending to watch this show. Its not so scary afterall, no horror. But truely awefully gruesome, sick, disgusting, gross and all the words i can described.

Its about a pair of ‘sick‘ brother who wants to revenge their mother and being physcho to do all these kind of aweful inhuman shit. They kill, or rather not kill to be precise, paralysed them to be made into their so call WAX sculpture. Totally captivated when u see the life-liked ‘WAX’ figures finely made and sculptured when underneath all that are real human body. If u study BIO, it might be a good experience for you. Sure, but u got to be Sixteen and watch it only at Eng Wah cause they don’t see your birthdates.

Its been long since i’ve ever watched a movie with friends and i was like since i hadnt whet for one for so long, might as well go with them and i didnt actually cared about what show to watch and just tagged along. All’s well, Wai Sze screamed at one part when it wasnt suppose to be scary and led the whole theatre to laughter. How embarassing aint it? Haha. Alright, now lets wait and see what she will tagg on my board and rebuttle me about her actions. Oh i forgot about one part, Zephan(the hourglass) was watching the movie with his leg very near to his face, and hands covering his eyes, throughout the movie he kept on saying “Walao, this is damm sick lor, i wasted my 7 Bucks on this gross movie”. Scared aint huh Zephan?
